Your senior leadership plays a critical role in ensuring the entire organization understands the importance of affirmative action. Only with buy-in from the top will managers throughout the rest of the organization be motivated and empowered to make decisions that positively impact your program.

In order to secure that buy-in, you’ll need to equip leaders with a robust understanding of affirmative action concepts and their compliance obligations.

Affirmity can help.

Affirmative action requires organizations that contract with the federal government to promote equal opportunity among protected groups by recruiting and advancing qualified women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and covered veterans. Through three separate laws, enforced by the US Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), employers are required to develop and implement affirmative action plans—while proving their positive actions and good faith efforts implemented throughout the year are promoting equal opportunity.

Your senior leaders require essential insight into these laws, and through this basic overview course, leaders will:

  • Distinguish between equal employment opportunity and affirmative action
  • Recognize the laws and regulations associated with affirmative action
  • Describe the purpose and necessity of an affirmative action plan
  • Identify the basic compliance requirements of an affirmative action employer
  • Understand the associated risks of non-compliance

Course Length: 20 minutes
